Benarty Primary School currently serves the Benarty area and is a spacious and well laid out school. It was previously the local high school (Ballingry Junior High School). It closed in 1987 when the new high school was completed and opened in Lochgelly (Lochgelly High School). The school was then and refurbished and modernised then re-opened as the new local primary school.
