Lochore Meadows Country Park

Lochore Meadows Country Park (known locally as the 'Meedies') is a major centre for outdoor activities and environmental education in Fife. The Park is an attractive area, comprising reclaimed coal mining waste-land, gently rolling grassland and woodland. The Country Park covers an area of 1,200 acres, 260 of which form Loch Ore itself. The Park offers a host of facilities and activities and is accessable throughout the whole year.

Lochore Meadows Country Park - Facilities

Trout Fishery
(Loch Ore is regularly stocked with Brown and Rainbow Trout. Boats supplied with engines are available for hire including a wheely boat for wheelchair users. Anglers can take 5 fish per ticket)
Golf Course
(Nine hole golf course (par 72 for 18 holes) surrounded by amazing scenery. Set entirely within the Country Park, there are brilliant views down the fairways which offer excellent views of the Mary Pit and Benarty Hill)
Outdoor Education Centre
Picnic Areas
BBQs
Beach Area
(Sanded beach area for children to play and build sand castles or to paddle during the summer months)
Play Area
(The park has a recently (2010) build play area)
Nature Reserve
(Including a bird watching hide)

White Wood Mountain Bike Track

The new Mountain Bike track at the White WoodsThe new White Wood mountain bike skills area at Lochore Meadows Country Park is situated by the Mary Pit Road and is a new official bike park built and managed by local riders. The new facility is a 10 minute walk from the main park centre and consists of a various range of table top jumps, drops and tricky rocky sections and caters for almost every type of rider ranging from beginner to professional. There are also tracks situated throughout the rest of the park and surrounding areas. Please note it is important to ride within your Mountain Bikecapabilities, starting with the easier runs and building up to the more difficult features like the jumps. Failure to do so can result in injury - You have been warned, now go and enjoy!

SAFETY: Please ensure you use the latest safety equipment when riding! Use a suitable bike and correct safety gear including a helmet and gloves.
