Just looked at the photos for ballingry high school.......recognised a few faces from the 'unknown' year :))) especially Thomas (Tam) Ewans - my neighbour and best friend when I was growing up! Happy days. Wondered what had happened to some of my class mates who seemed to 'disappear' during the summer of 1974....Andrew Foley, Ann McGuire......now I know they went to ballingry high!!!

Taught Home Economics from1976 to1987. This is a great site - brought back lots of memories. Still teaching, but now with Visual Impairment Service. Sometimes come across former pupils, who usually say nice things!!

I started life in Glencraig, then moved to Kirktoun Park in 1960. Attended Dunmore nursery in 1962, then old Benarty primary school 1963 till 1970, to move up to Ballingry Junior High school till 1974. I remember the old social club at the end of oor street, there was a band I heard live who were called "The Other Side", they came from Benarty area in the sixties. On Sunday's at Benarty play-park all the guys from most streets used to meet up and play fitba also cricket too. I remember wee Eck from oor street had a card school, plus the pitch & toss in the park too, after the fitba was done. Lots of memories within oor wee toon.
